Naked Attraction’s Anna Richardson confirmed as Davina McCall’s Changing Room replacement
Naked Attraction’s Anna Richardson has been announced as Davina McCall’s replacement on the upcoming Changing Rooms reboot.
But Anna has now been confirmed to be taking over the reins and will join designer-turned-host Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen for the new series.
‘What an honour to be joining the Changing Rooms team, one of my favourite shows from when I first started in TV,’ she enthused.
‘This series is an absolute classic and I can’t wait to see the designs the legendary Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and the brilliant Jordan and Russell of 2LG come up with for our homeowners.’
She added: ‘Let’s get that house swapping started.’
Also joining Anna and Laurence are designers Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead of 2LG Studio and carpenter and joiner Tibby Singh.
The Changing Rooms reboot was revealed in October 2020, with six one-hour episodes on the horizon.
The show is made in partnership with Dulux and sees two sets of homeowners from the same neighbourhood work against the clock to renovate a room in each other’s houses.
The homeowners will work with LLB or 2LG to bring the new looks to life in the chosen rooms, with the designers’ bold and opposing styles ensuring each transformation will be spectacular, innovative and unexpected.
Carpenter and joiner Tibby will lend a helping hand to bring the designs to life, while presenter Anna will guide viewers through the makeovers and hear from the homeowners throughout the process to see how they’re feeling about the renovations they’re carrying out, and what might be going on back in their own home.
Changing Rooms will be packed full of design and DIY hints and tips, teaching us how to be crafty on a budget by upscaling and adding sparkle to unloved or outdated corners of our homes.
‘There’s no room for beige in our homes and, just as it was in the 90s, Changing Rooms is once more the homestyle antidote to Britain’s blues (and greys and taupes, and even Magnolia),’ Laurence said of the news.
‘It’s taken quite a lot of coaxing to get me under the Changing Rooms banner once more, but nothing like as much coaxing as it’s going to take for me to squeeze those leather trousers back on.’
In November, it was reported that the Changing Rooms reboot had been delayed due to the second coronavirus lockdown.
Four months later, Davina was forced to pull out of the project.
‘The lockdown and pandemic have played havoc with the schedule and sadly Davina has said she won’t be able to commit,’ a source told The Sun.
‘It’s the last thing anyone wanted but she is so busy with other filming commitments.
‘Everyone on Changing Rooms is gutted as getting Davina on board was a huge coup for the reboot.’
