Tottenham Hotspur chief Danil Levy has turned his full attention to appointing Antonio Conte as the club’s new manager and is preparing a firm offer.

Levy was attempting to lure Mauricio Pochettino back to north London but he looks set to stay with Paris Saint-Germain.

Conte is interested in returning to London after a successful spell in the UK capital with Chelsea.

He won the Premier League and FA Cup with the Blues but that will not stop him returning to manage one of their biggest rivals.

Conte has just left Inter Milan after winning the Serie A title and Levy is accelerating talks, with a firm offer soon to be on the table.

Intriguingly, he is set to bow to Conte’s demands by also hiring former Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici, according to The Telegraph.

That could see Levy step back from the football side of the club, while director of technical performance Steve Hitchen’s role may me under threat.

Hitchen is, however, thought to have a close relationship with Levy, who values him highly.

Levy wanted to see how realistic it was for Pochettino to return. But when his contract at PSG was extended by a year, Levy ramped up his efforts to appoint Conte.
