A mum who shares handy cleaning tips on TikTok has shared her clever hack for getting rid of pesky rust stains on your plug hole.
Caroline, from Perth, Australia, has revealed how she gets rid of unsightly rust stains from stainless steel – using white vinegar.
In the clip, you can see an ugly yellow stain on the rim of the drain – but the simple trick of using vinegar lifted the stain off the surface with ease.
You will need a bit of time for this one.
Carolina left the vinegar in the sink for a few hours to allow a chemical reaction to take place. Next, she drained the vinegar and then used a microfibre cloth to rub away the rusty stain. Simple.
And getting rid of the stain wasn’t the only benefit of using this trick, the entire sink looked sparkling and new when she was done.
The high concentrate white vinegar contains makes it an effective product to remove rust, but beyond that, the high acidity in vinegar is also known to remove bacteria – it’s a win-win.
Another brilliant tip that Carolina has shared on her TikTok page was how to make a natural spray to clean stainless steel household products – like your coffee machine, for example.
To make this handy product, Carolina mixed one part vinegar and one part water in a bottle, and then simply sprayed the liquid onto a microfibre cloth to polish her coffee machine.
