Emmerdale’s Emile John has returned to set after battling Coronavirus.

Emile – who plays Ethan Anderson in the ITV soap – has recovered from the virus, but is yet to have his sense of taste return.

In a social media post, Emile announced he would be returning to the Dales to film.

Last week (July 17), Emile posted on his Instagram eating a raw lemon after Coronavirus caused him to lose his sense of taste and smell.

Biting into the fruit, Emile said ‘Nothing, nothing. I can’t taste a thing, I can’t smell s***’.

Emile contracting the virus came after it was reported Emmerdale and Coronation Street are at risk of being shut down, due to an ‘alarming’ growth in Covid cases.

Emile has played Ethan Anderson since January of this year. He recently made a moving speech during the soap’s first Pride Event where he spoke about the trauma he had experienced over his sexuality.

Elsewhere, Ethan has also attempted to track down his birth mother in a recent storyline. However, viewers were aware murderer Meena (Paige Sandhu) was catfishing Ethan, using a fake phone number pretending to be his mum.
