She encourages other young people who want to get into sports not to wait for the right time: “Let the confidence build while you start the journey!”     Ana advocates for equal representation and equal funding for athletes with disabilities as for non-disabled athletes. She also argues that representation matters: “When young people with disabilities see somebody like them on big world stages, it empowers them.”    The Council of Europe and the EU work together on “Sport For All: Promoting Inclusion and Combating Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities", a project that builds on ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive sports culture by addressing the barriers to the participation of persons with disabilities in sport and fostering a safe and welcoming sports environments for all.
